The makers issued a statement announcing the actress's departure from the film. While the makers didn't reveal the clear reasons, the statement seemingly addressed the lack of commitment by the actress towards the film. Deepika will now be replaced by another actress, who is yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the unreasonable demands of the Pathaan actress were the reason has been dropped from the film. It is said that Deepika demanded a 25% increment on the acting fees she was paid for the first part of the film. She also demanded only 7 hours of work a day. Given that Kalki 2898 AD is a VFX-heavy film, such short shoots were likely to shoot up the budget by a reasonable amount.
