RRR RRR is a fictional historical action drama directed by SS Rajamouli, set in 1920s colonial India. The film imagines a story where two legendary revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr. NTR), who in real life never met, cross paths and form a powerful bond. Raju, working as a police officer under the British, is secretly an undercover revolutionary trying to secure weapons for his people, while Bheem is on a mission to rescue a young tribal girl taken away by the ruthless British governor. Their friendship, forged through courage and sacrifice, is tested when duty and loyalty place them on opposite sides. Eventually, the truth about Raju’s hidden mission is revealed, and the two join forces to take on the oppressive empire in a spectacular showdown. At its heart, the film is not just about rebellion but also about the unbreakable bond of friendship and the sacrifices made for freedom. With larger-than-life action sequences, emotional drama, and the iconic Naatu Naatu dance number, RRR delivers a cinematic spectacle that blends myth, history, and imagination. It stands as a tribute to the spirit of resistance, portraying how unity and courage can ignite the fire of revolution against tyranny. Rajamouli conceptualised the film by reimagining the lives of Sitarama Raju and Bheem, envisioning their meeting in 1920s Delhi as two formidable forces uniting to battle British colonial rule. The film was officially announced in March 2018, and principal photography began in November 2018 in Hyderabad. The production faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and concluded in August 2021. RRR was shot extensively across India, with additional sequences filmed in Ukraine and Bulgaria.

Hyderabad, November 19 - Director SS Rajamouli's action drama Baahubali: The Epic, the one long cut version of his iconic Baahubali duology, has wrapped up its epic yet unwhelming box office run. The movie has become the highest-grossing Indian re-release title, but it promised much more. Starring Prabhas in the title role, Baahubali: The Epic was unlike any other Indian re-release title. The makers promoted it as a proper new release, and it delivered results to some extent. However, the trade was expecting it to become the first Indian re-release film to gross over 100 crores, which didn't happen. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Produced by Arka Mediaworks, the film has grossed approximately 39.50 crores domestically, making it the highest-grossing re-release film in India. Overseas, The Epic minted approximately 12.25 crores, including 8.25 crores in North America, finishing at around 52 crores gross globally. These are unheard-of numbers for a reissue Indian title, which demonstrates the massive excitement it generated before its release. Baahubali: The Epic Box Office Collection | All Language | Day Wise | Worldwide In Telugu states, the film scored around 21.50 crores, while the Hindi belt delivered 8.25 crores. Overall, the movie sold approximately 23 lakh tickets in India, which is an excellent result for a re-release blockbuster. It is the third most-watched re-release film in India, after Sanam Teri Kasam and Tumbbad, which sold 23+ lakh tickets each. Baahubali: The Epic opened strongly in select territories, but its collections dropped quickly after the first weekend, signalling limited repeat value among audiences. The grand re-release — including extensive 4K restoration, IMAX screenings, and a new marketing push — had created an atmosphere similar to that of a major new release. Yet, the finish highlighted that even an iconic franchise like Baahubali cannot fully replicate its past theatrical dominance merely through nostalgia. Stay tuned...

Prabhas, SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Epic Crosses 50 Crore Worldwide, But Fails To Match The Hype

Hyderabad, November 10 - Pan-India superstar Prabhas and director SS Rajamouli's much-hyped magnum opus Baahubali: The Epic has topped 50 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, but this isn't what the trade had expected despite it becoming the first Indian re-release to hit the milestone. Baahubali: The Epic, which is a one-part version of the Baahubali duology, was carrying huge anticipation. With grand promotions, renewed marketing buzz, and strong nostalgia among fans, the film has managed to collect over 50 crore worldwide in 10 days — a figure impressive for most re-releases, yet far below the towering expectations surrounding this one. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Trade had anticipated Baahubali: The Epic to rewrite the record books for re-released films, especially considering the film's legendary status, and a never-before-attempted one-cut version. However, while the movie opened strongly in select territories, its collections dropped quickly after the first weekend, signalling limited repeat value among audiences. The grand re-release — including extensive 4K restoration, IMAX screenings, and a new marketing push — had created an atmosphere similar to that of a major new release. Yet, the 50 crore worldwide gross has highlighted that even an iconic franchise like Baahubali cannot fully replicate its past theatrical dominance merely through nostalgia. While the 50 crores mark globally still makes it the highest-grossing Indian re-release to date, the numbers fall short of high expectations that had pegged it to touch the 100 crore mark globally. Some even had anticipated it to cross 100 crores in India alone, but that is not the case anymore. Stay tuned...

Prabhas' Baahubali: The Epic Becomes The Highest-Grossing Indian Re-Release Film

Hyderabad, November 3 - SS Rajamouli's action drama Baahubali: The Epic, the one-cut version of his epic Baahubali duology, has become the highest-grossing Indian re-release film of all time after it scored an excellent opening weekend globally. Starring Pan India superstar Prabhas in the title role, the movie grossed approximately 40 crores in its 3-day opening weekend at the worldwide box office, including around 29 crores domestically and 11 crores overseas. This makes it the biggest re-release Indian blockbuster. Baahubali: The Epic has beaten the lifetime re-release run of Harshvardhan Rane's Sanam Teri Kasam, which minted around 39 crores earlier this year. The entire collection of STK came from the domestic market, as it wasn't re-released internationally. Tumbbad is the third biggest grosser with around 37 crores. The 3-hour and 45-minute-long blockbuster is heading towards becoming the first Indian re-release title to gross 50 crores. As reported earlier, Baahubali: The Epic will need to gross over 100 crores domestically to make Baahubali: The Conclusion the biggest grosser in India, a title which the movie held for nearly 8 years before Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule claimed it earlier this year. Though the opening weekend collection of the film is excellent, it is unlikely to gross 100 crores domestically, which is a tough ask for a non-original movie. However, it needs to be seen how to fares during the weekdays as that will determine how far it can go at the box office. Stay tuned...

Prabhas, SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Epic Becomes Biggest Telugu Re-Release Grosser: Scores Huge First Day Worldwide

Hyderabad, November 1 - Director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Epic, a one-cut version combining his path-breaking Baahubali duology, has shattered records to become the biggest-ever Telugu re-release blockbuster. The epic action drama has enjoyed a full-fledged re-release — not just across India but also in key international markets — marking another milestone for the franchise. Starring Prabhas in the titular role, Baahubali: The Epic had its grand premiere on October 30, grossing approximately 5.25 crore worldwide. Notably, re-released Telugu films rarely have premiere shows, making this record-setting feat even more remarkable. What's more impressive is that the premiere earnings of the film alone surpassed the opening day collection of several major Telugu films released this year, which proves the undeniable legacy of Baahubali films. Following its historic premiere, the film recorded a massive opening day globally, with double-digit collections across India. As per early estimates, Baahubali: The Epic grossed around 12.50 crore on its opening day domestically (including 1.35 crore from premieres), while its overseas collections are around 6–7 crore, taking its worldwide total to an extraordinary 19–20 crore. A tale of destiny, betrayal, love, and power - once told in two grand chapters, now reborn as one monumental experience.🔥Relive the entire legend in #BaahubaliTheEpic - from Tomorrow#BaahubaliTheEpicOn31stOct pic.twitter.com/AZXFzLQxjZ— Baahubali (@BaahubaliMovie) October 30, 2025 With these figures, the film has become the highest-grossing Telugu re-release title and the second-highest-grossing South Indian re-release film of all time, behind only Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli, which grossed over 30 crores worldwide. The previous biggest Telugu re-release grosser was Mahesh Babu's Khaleja (11 crores). Let alone the re-release, the opening day collection of Baahubali: The Epic would even make the most of the original release envious. It is, however, worth noting that Telugu films normally don't have a proper re-release; instead, they are more like a celebratory re-release. But even with that, Baahubali is miles ahead of them. The 3-hour and 45-minute-long cut will most likely become the highest-grossing Indian re-release grosser by tomorrow or the next day, beating Sanam Teri Kasam, which grossed around 40 crores earlier this year. Baahubali: The Epic, however, will be eying much more as a genuine interest, for it can be seen among the audience even after 10 years. Stay tuned...

Prabhas' Baahubali: The Epic Storms To 5+ Crore Premiere Gross Worldwide

Hyderabad, October 31 - Director SS Rajamouli's epic one-cut re-release of his path-breaking blockbuster Baahubali duology - Baahubali: The Epic has started with a bang at the worldwide box office after record-breaking premiere gross. Starring Prabhas in the title role, the 3-hour and 45-minute-long blockbuster had a limited premiere in India on October 30 and a full-fledged premiere in North America. The film grossed approximately 1.25-1.50 crores in its domestic premiere. In North America, the film is looking to gross around 3.75 crores, making it 5-5.25+ crores gross worldwide premiere. The Indian re-release titles historically don't have a premiere, so it is a new record for Baahubali: The Epic, and is likely to remain so. The combined version of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion is likely to become the biggest Telugu re-release grosser after the first day itself (including premiere). If the momentum persists, it could become the biggest Indian re-release blockbuster in the first weekend itself, which needs to be seen. Currently, Harshvardhan Rane's romantic drama, Sanam Teri Kasam, is the top Indian grosser in its repeat run. The film stunned everyone earlier this year and went on to gross around 40 crores in its re-release run, followed by Tumbbad, which minted an excellent 37.50 crores gross. Stay tuned...

Can Prabhas' Baahubali: The Epic Make Baahubali 2 To Reclaim Indian Box Office Crown?

Hyderabad, October 30 - Maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli and Pan India superstar Prabhas' action drama Baahubali: The Conclusion ruled the Indian box office for nearly eight years as the country's highest-grossing film, before that reign came to an end when Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule took over the top position following its phenomenal success in December last year. There is currently a difference of around 50 crores between the two films in favour of Pushpa 2. But the tables may yet turn with the upcoming re-release of the Baahubali duology, now presented as Baahubali: The Epic. This special cut will bring together both films — Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion — into a single, nearly 3-hour-45-minute cinematic experience. The advance booking of Baahubali: The Epic is robust, better than all the films which have been re-released at the Indian box office so far. To earn over 50 crores gross for the film shouldn't be a big ask, but it has to double it up to make Baahubali 2 reclaim its top spot. Baahubali: The Epic poses a unique case for box office accounting, as it includes both parts in one continuous feature, so the total earnings of its can't be attributed to just Baahubali 2. Since this is a one-of-a-kind case, what can be done is to split the collection of Baahubali: The Epic in half and add to both parts. If done so, the re-release will need to gross over 100 crores at the Indian box office to bridge the 50+ crores gap between Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2. For the record, no film has ever grossed more than 50 crores in its re-release run at the Indian box office, so it needs to be seen how Baahubali: The Epic fares, even though it is certain to become the biggest Indian re-release grosser of all time. Whether it can also help Baahubali 2 reclaim its long-held crown remains to be seen, but one thing is certain — this epic is about to make history again. Stay tuned...
