Chennai, October 24 - Thalapathy Vijay's action drama Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has become the 4th highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time at the worldwide box office. It has crossed Kamal Haasan's mega-blockbuster "Vikram" which grossed approximately 415 crores last year.## "Leo", which is part of director Lokesh's Cinematic Universe (LCU), surpassed "Vikram", also directed by Lokesh from LCU, on its 5th day and became the 4th biggest Tamil grosser of all-time and the biggest in the LCU. It will reach around 450 crores worldwide gross by the end of 6th day. ## Produced by Seven Screen Studio, "Leo" has taken full advantage of the holiday period with the extraordinary collection. The latest LCU blockbuster has minted approximately 255.50 crores gross at the domestic box office while overseas collection stands at approx. 160 crores after the first 5 days. ## "Leo" is also the fastest Tamil movie to top 400 crores worldwide, beating the previous record of 6 days taken by Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0". Mumbai, December 31 - It was a great year for the Indian film industry which witnessed 6 films crossing the 400 crores gross mark at the global box office, which happened for the first in Indian cinema in a single year. The total box office collection in India for 2022 films has also crossed the 10,000 crores gross mark. ## The domestic gross box office of 2022 was dominated by Southern Indian films with 12 South Indian films making it to the top 20 highest-grossing Indian films of 2022 list. Yash-fronted "KGF 2" remained the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with approx. 1210 crores gross in all languages, including approx. 1000 crores at the domestic box office. ## The 10,000 crores box office mark for 2022 films in India is set to be breached, thanks to the late strike by James Cameron's mega movie "Avatar 2" which is nearing 400 crores gross in India in all languages. Chennai, December 13 - Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj has made his mark in his little career so far and is finding himself standing with some of the most successful directors in the country. The last three films of Kanagaraj became huge hits at the box office and put him in the elite league. ## Lokesh is one of the directors in India who is creating his own cinematic universe. It was his "Kaithi" (2019), starring Karthi, which kickstarted LCU and the second film is Kamal Haasan's "Vikram", which was released in June this year. Before "Vikram", Lokesh directed Thalapathy Vijay in "Master" which was a standalone film. ## Going forward, Lokesh will only focus on the films that will feature in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
