Sunny Deol's Blockbuster Line-Up: All The Upcoming Films of Gadar 2 Megastar

Mumbai, October 29 - One of the biggest stars of the 90s, Sunny Deol, broke the shackles and delivered one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema with period action drama Gadar 2 in 2023. The actor followed this mega success with director Gopichand Mallineni's Jaat earlier this year and turned out to be a decent success. The veteran star, who redefined the patriotic and action-hero image for an entire generation, hasn't looked back since Gadar 2 and now has a packed and promising lineup ahead. His upcoming projects span across genres "” from emotional dramas and patriotic sagas to massive epic and actioner spectacles "” marking one of the busiest phases of his career in decades. 1. Border 2 Release Date: 22 January 2026 The much-awaited sequel to the 1997 war classic Border is finally on the way. Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is Sunny Deol's immediate release and will see him reprise his iconic character in a new story of bravery and sacrifice. Joining him are Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, adding youthful energy to the ensemble. The film aims to recreate the patriotic fervour of the original with modern scale and storytelling. 2. Gabru Release Date: 13 March 2026 Touted as the most emotional role yet for Sunny, Gabru is an emotional drama directed by Shashank Udapurkar. The film, described as a story of courage, conscience, and compassion, will reportedly showcase Sunny in a deeply human and emotionally charged role "” something different from his usual high-octane characters. The actor unveiled the first look on his 68th birthday, promising a moving tale that connects with the heartland audience. 3. Ramayana - Part 1 Release Date: Diwali 2026 Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a mega-scale epic saga, in which Sunny Deol plays the role of Lord Hanuman. The project, one of India's most ambitious cinematic ventures, features a massive ensemble, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as demon king Raavan. It's a refreshing departure for Sunny, who will step into an epic world far removed from his usual patriotic dramas. 4. Lahore, 1947 Release Date - 2026 (TBA) Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Lahore, 1947 is a period drama set against the backdrop of the partition of India in 1947. It is based on Prof. Asghar Wajahat's drama "“ Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai. The film is expected to delve into themes of sacrifice, resilience, and national pride "” perfectly aligned with the kind of cinema Sunny Deol has always championed. 5. Baap Release Date - 2026 (expected) A nostalgic action ensemble, Baap pairs Sunny with other '80s"“'90s action icons - Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, and Jackie Shroff, for a throwback spectacle. Directed by Vivek Singh Chauhan, Baap is expected to emphasise old-school heroics, punchy dialogues and crowd-driven moments. 6. Soorya Release Date - 2026 (expected) Soorya is said to be the adaptation of the acclaimed Malayalam film Joseph, with Sunny reportedly in the lead as a gritty, world-weary cop. This project places Sunny in a lean, procedural role "” different from his traditional action fare and aimed at showcasing acting depth. 7. Ramayana - Part 2 Release Date - Diwali 2027 The second part of the epic, in which Sunny Deol has the full-length role, will be hitting worldwide cinemas in 2027. The movie will be released in multiple Indian and international languages, using a special technology. 8. Coal King Release Date - TBA Director Anil Sharma has reportedly pitched a larger-than-life action drama set against the coal mafia and its brutal underworld to Sunny Deol, who is said to have liked it. There is not much information available about the project yet, but reports say it will be the duo's next project after Gadar 2. 9. Gadar 3 Release Date - TBA Talks are ongoing for Gadar 3, reuniting Sunny with director Anil Sharma to continue the Gadar saga. The first two films captured massive patriotic fervour and emotional catharsis; a third instalment would look to extend that narrative, leaning on the franchise's scale and the audience's attachment to the central characters. 10. Jaat 2 Release Date - TBA Following the success of Jaat, the sequel is reportedly in the works, with Rajkumar Santoshi in talks to replace Malliani to direct it. With creative teams assembling and scripts being refined, Jaat 2 is positioned to continue Sunny's recent run of earthy action dramas. Sunny Deol's upcoming lineup is intentionally diverse. Gabru and Soorya push him toward performance-driven drama; Coal King, Border 2 and Gadar 3 promise mass spectacle and nationalist themes; Ramayana offers epic scale, while Jaat 2 and Baap blend nostalgia with crowd entertainment. Together, these projects map out a carefully balanced second act. Stay tuned...

Prabhas In and As Fauzi In Director Hanu Raghavapudi's Period Action Drama

Hyderabad, October 23 "” Pan India superstar Prabhas' highly-awaited period action drama with director Hanu Raghavapudi, has officially been titled Fauzi. The announcement, made on October 23 on Prabhas' birthday, has taken the internet by storm. Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series Films in association with Mythri Movie Makers, the Fauzi marks a powerful collaboration between the Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi and the pan-India superstar. The first look poster exudes intensity and patriotism "” half of Prabhas' face dominates the frame, his fierce eyes conveying grit and defiance. Draped beside him is a burning British flag, symbolising resistance against colonial rule. The tagline, "A Battalion Who Fights Alone," hints at a tale of bravery, sacrifice, and solitary struggle set against the backdrop of 1940s colonial India. The film's title, Fauzi, meaning soldier, aptly captures its essence "” a warrior's journey in a time when loyalty and rebellion collided. The visual tone and fiery textures suggest a blend of historical drama and action, promising an epic-scale narrative. Produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar, and Bhushan Kumar, the film is poised to be one of the most ambitious period dramas in Indian cinema. The credits reveal a strong technical team, with Vishal Chandrashekhar handling the music and PS Vinod on cinematography. Fauzi "” A story set in 1940s colonial India, also stars Imani in her debut alongside Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Jaya Parda in prominent roles. Makers Tease Title of Prabhas-Hanu Raghavapudi's Film as Official Announcement Drops On October 23

Hyderabad, October 22: The first glimpse of Prabhas' highly anticipated collaboration with director Hanu Raghavapudi is finally dropped "” and it's shrouded in mystery. The poster, released by Mythri Movie Makers on Wednesday (October 22), introduces audiences to a cryptic world under the tagline "A Battalion Who Walks Alone." At the centre of the design (seemingly) stands Prabhas, clad in a long vintage coat and boots, his figure partially shadowed. Beneath his feet lies a tattered British flag, emblazoned with the words "Most Wanted Since 1932." Subtle wartime imagery in the background "” soldiers, columns, and coded numbers "” hints at a story set in 1940s colonial India, possibly involving espionage and rebellion. What truly grabs attention is the line "#PrabhasHanu Decrypts Z Tomorrow." This indicates that the official title, symbolised by the mysterious "Z," will be revealed tomorrow. Fans have already begun speculating whether "œZ" represents a codename, an operation, or a key element tied to the film's plot. The title of the film has widely been rumoured as Fauji, which doesn't align with the hint in the poster, if it is for the title. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, the film promises to blend patriotism, history, and action on an epic scale. Cinematography is by Dulip Chatterjee, with music reportedly handled by Vishal Chandrasekhar. After the poetic beauty of Sita Ramam, Hanu Raghavapudi appears to be crafting a more intense, espionage-driven saga this time, headlined by Prabhas in a never-before-seen avatar. The film also stars Imani, in her debut, alongside Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher in key roles. The title and possibly the motion poster are expected to drop tomorrow. ----------------------------------पाण्डवपक्षे संस्थित कर्णः।----------------------------------#PrabhasHanu TITLE POSTER - Tomorrow @ 11.07 AM ❤"ðŸ”¥Rebel Star #Prabhas #Imanvi @hanurpudi #MithunChakraborty #JayaPrada @AnupamPKher @Composer_Vishal @sudeepdop @kk_lyricist"¦ pic.twitter.com/jf8hYx9usU— Mythri Movie Makers (@MythriOfficial) October 22, 2025 Stay tuned...

Big Update On Sunny Deol-fronted Multistarrer Baap

Mumbai, October 18 - Before scripting history with Gadar 2, Sunny Deol was supposed to come up with a mass entertainer Baap, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, and Jackie Shroff, one of the biggest action heroes of the 1980s and '90s. Directed by Vivek Singh Chauhan, the film went on floors in June 2022 and was supposed to be released in 2023. However, the movie hit a roadblock as the shoot was paused for some reason. Now, as per the latest report by Mid-Day, the movie is readying to hit the big screen next year. It is said that the shoot of Baap has been completed, as the team is working on post-production work. The film's talkie portions were already wrapped up by April this year, and now, the entire filming is done after the completion of two songs - a peppy number featuring the four actors, and another track celebrating the protagonists' camaraderie. The movie, produced by Zee Studios and Ahmed Khan, is said to be a VFX-heavy. All actors have reportedly begun dubbing, and the film should be ready by the year-end, after which the makers will decide the release date. The film is said to be designed as an action extravaganza, complete with helicopter chase sequences, explosions, and hand-to-hand combat choreographed by action directors Parvez Shaikh and Ravi Varma. Baap will be the fourth theatrical release for Sunny Deol in 2026. He will begin the year with the hugely anticipated Border 2 (January 22), followed by Lahore 1947 in the summer, and the epic Ramayana Part 1 on Diwali 2026. Stay tuned...

Multiplex Chains Refuse To Screen Vivek Agnihotri's The Bengal Files In Bengal Under Political Pressure, Makers Allege

Mumbai, September 4 - Director Vivek Agnihotri's much-awaited reality-based political thriller The Bengal Files is facing trouble in getting released in West Bengal amid pressure from the ruling state party, alleges the national award-winning filmmaker. Scheduled to release on September 5, the film presents a storyline focused on the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings and the Noakhali riots, depicting the violence and its aftermath as a genocide, and claiming that these chapters of history were deliberately suppressed or ignored. Ever since the movie was announced, it has been under constant scrutiny for showing the dark truth of Indian history. Now, this scrutiny is leading to the unofficial ban on the film in Bengal, which forced the makers to write an open letter to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, for urgent intervention. Producer of #TheBengalFiles, Pallavi Joshi, writes an open letter to the President of India:URGENT APPEAL:Your Excellency, @rashtrapatibhvn,"As Producer of #TheBengalFiles, I am pained that multiplex chains in Bengal have refused the film"™s release under political pressure"¦ pic.twitter.com/ERTLvqxp3y— Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri (@vivekagnihotri) September 4, 2025 In the letter, producer Pallavi Joshi has alleged that theatre chains in West Bengal are refusing to screen the movie under political pressure. Joshi also alleged that she, along with her family, is threatened every day by the workers of the ruling party under Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee. It is worth noting that similar hurdles were also faced by Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files, which some of the states refused to release, but the film went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2022. It needs to be seen how things unfold for The Bengal Files, which carries similarities with TKF. Produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and I Am Buddha Productions, the film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Simrat Kaur, Anupam Kher, Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das, and Mohan Kapur in key roles. Vivek Agnihotri's The Bengal Files Censor Certificate and Record Runtime Revealed

Mumbai, August 27 - National Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is all set to release the third instalment and possibly the final film in his acclaimed Files trilogy with The Bengal Files, which releases on September 5. The movie has been making headlines in the media just like the previous films for its political commentary, which has been the hallmark of the franchise. This upcoming film portrays the tragic events surrounding Direct Action Day, also known as the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings on 16 August 1946. Ahead of the film's release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared the movie, and like The Kashmir Files, it has also got an A certificate. What makes the update even more significant is the film's approved runtime, which is 3 hours and 24 minutes (204 minutes). This not only makes The Bengal Files the longest film in Agnihotri's trilogy, surpassing The Kashmir Files (2 hours 50 minutes) and The Tashkent Files (2 hours 24 minutes), but also positions it among the longest mainstream Hindi films ever released. In recent times, it is easily the longest Bollywood film, beating Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (201 minutes). Given its certification and extended runtime of The Bengal Files, trade experts believe the film is being positioned as an epic-scale socio-political drama meant to leave a lasting impact. Agnihotri, known for his politically charged storytelling, has previously sparked nationwide discussions with his hard-hitting narratives. With The Bengal Files, the director is expected to dive into yet another controversial and emotionally intense chapter of Indian history. Produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and I Am Buddha Productions, the movie stars Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Simrat Kaur, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das, and Mohan Kapur in key roles. The Bengal Files Director Vivek Agnihotri Responds Strongly to John Abraham's Criticism of The Kashmir Files

Mumbai, August 22 - National award-winning director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is gearing up for the release of political drama The Bengal Files, which is the third piece in Agnihotri's Files trilogy after National Award-winning movies The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Kashmir Files (2022). The upcoming movie revolves around the Calcutta riots of August 16, 1946, which were triggered after the All-India Muslim League called for Direct Action Day to demand a separate homeland. The movie has been in the media headlines for various reasons, which was expected. Recently, Bollywood star John Abraham shared his opinion on films like The Kashmir Files and Chhaava, and labelled them as the extreme right wing's ideological films, which he said are not good for society. He expressed that he would never make films like The Kashmir Files to "sway people in a hyper-political environment". Abraham's comments left many people furious, including director Agnihotri. During an interview with Padmaja Joshi of NDTV, the filmmaker, who worked with Abraham in 2007's sports drama Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, reacted to the actor's comment about The Kashmir Files. "John is not a historian, an intellectual, a thinker, or a writer. He has been making very, very jingoistic films like Satyameva Jayate, too. He made Diplomat and all those kinds of films. He must have said that for a variety of reasons. If you had told me some great historian had said this, I would have understood it. I don't care about what he's saying. When was India's atmosphere not hyper-political? When was it that Hindu-Muslim and caste issues never existed in India?" "“ Agnihotri The filmmaker further said, "He is known for driving motorbikes and showing his body and eating protein, he should focus on those things, film-on mein naa hi ghuse toh behtar hai (better if he doesn't get into talking about films)." Produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and I Am Buddha Productions in association with Zee Studios, The Bengal Files stars Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Simrat Kaur, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das, and Mohan Kapur.
