Hyderabad, September 19 - Director Nag Ashwin has shared a cryptic post, seemingly targeting Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, after she was dropped from the sequel to Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD, following her allegedly over-the-top demands. The news of Deepika's departure came as a shock to her fans, but also not a surprise, given how things have gone in recent times. Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin has reacted to the development. The filmmaker took to Instagram and re-shared a video of Krishna's entry scene from Kalki, 2898 AD, captioning it, "You can't change what happened, but you can choose what happens next." Ashwin's cryptic story quickly went viral across social media platforms, with many speculating that it was aimed at Deepika. The users assume that the makers are clearly not happy with Deepika and are angry. But the users also point out that Nag Ashwin should not use code language to react to the same, and directly say things. Nonetheless, it was a big opportunity for Deepika to score limelight as her character will be the major highlight in Kalki 2, which is otherwise filled with star-studded. The actress essayed the role of Sumati, a pregnant lab subject of Project K and the prophesied mother of Kalki, in the 2023 hit Kalki 2898 AD. The shooting timeline of Kalki 2 is not revealed yet, but the majority of the shoot will take place next year.
