The Raja Saab : Prabhas Starrer Secures the 10th Spot in Tollywood's Elite ₹100 Crore Global Openers Club

Prabhas's latest release, The Raja Saab, has officially entered the list of Telugu films achieving a ₹100 crore+ worldwide gross on Day 1. This marks the sixth time a film headlined by Prabhas has reached this milestone, a record for any Indian actor. According to current data, the film ranks 10th among the highest-opening Telugu films of all time, joining the ranks of major releases such as Pushpa 2 and RRR. Leading the pack of these elite openers is Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, which remains an untouchable phenomenon. The film scripted history by grossing ₹ 275.20 crore worldwide on its opening day, the highest ever for an Indian film. Beyond its opening, Pushpa 2 became an all-time blockbuster, crossing the ₹1000 crore mark in a record 7 days. Its Hindi version alone rewrote the record books, surpassing Baahubali 2 to become the highest-grossing Hindi film ever. Following closely is S.S. Rajamouli’s global sensation RRR, which opened to ₹223 crore worldwide. Beyond its ₹1,200+ crore lifetime gross, the film achieved significant cultural impact, culminating in an Academy Award for the song Naatu Naatu. Prabhas's own filmography dominates the remainder of this high-achiever list. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion remains the ultimate benchmark for Indian cinema, having opened to ₹217 crore and becoming the first film to cross ₹1,000 crore in net collections within India. His more recent outings, Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, also posted historic opening day figures of ₹177 crore and ₹158 crore respectively. While Kalki drew praise for its futuristic vision and ₹1042 crore lifetime gross, Salaar was lauded for its raw action and strong performance in mass circuits, particularly in the Telugu states. The list also features high-octane releases from other Telugu titans. OG (They Call Him OG), starring Pawan Kalyan, delivered a staggering ₹144 crore worldwide opening, proving the actor's immense drawing power despite a limited promotional window. Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1 also made a significant mark with a ₹142 crore global start, performing exceptionally well in international markets like Japan. Even films that faced critical hurdles, such as Adipurush and Saaho, showcased the sheer pull of a Telugu star on Day 1, with both crossing the ₹100 crore gross mark globally before their trajectories were affected by mixed word-of-mouth. Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh-Starrer Scored Record 5th Week As The Film Nears 800 Crore Net

Mumbai, January 9 - Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar continues its historic march at the box office, delivering another record performance in its fifth week. The spy actioner raked in a staggering 51+ crore net in the fifth week, comfortably surpassing Chaava, which previously held the benchmark with around 30 crore net in the same period. Such a massive fifth-week total underlines the film's extraordinary hold at the ticket windows. With this sensational run, the Aditya Dhar directorial has now crossed the 790 crore net mark at the Indian box office. Despite entering its sixth week, the film has shown no signs of slowing down, driven by strong word of mouth, repeat audiences, and consistent footfalls across multiplexes and mass belts alike. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Dhurandhar will breach the 800 crore net milestone by the sixth Saturday, a feat achieved by only Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun. The Bollywood mega blockbuster is set to beat Pushpa 2's 812 crore net India total, and going by current trends, it is expected to overtake the record within the next couple of days, positioning itself as the biggest Hindi film ever at the Indian box office. After crossing the Pushpa 2 mark, Dhurandhar will not just rewrite Hindi cinema records but also emerge as the highest-grossing single-language film in Indian cinema. As the film inches closer to history, its box office journey stands as a testament to star power, strong storytelling, and unmatched audience acceptance over an extended theatrical run. Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj To Collaborate? Reports Suggest A Massive Pan-India Project Under Mythri Movie Makers

The Indian film industry is abuzz with reports of a monumental collaboration that could redefine the Pan-India landscape. According to latest industry buzz, Icon Star Allu Arjun is set to join forces with the master of gritty action cinema, Lokesh Kanagaraj. The project is reportedly backed by the prestigious Mythri Movie Makers. While fans eagerly await an official announcement ,the reported timeline suggests a massive year ahead for the Icon Star. Allu Arjun is set to resume work next week to wrap up his highly anticipated project with director Atlee, with a target to finish by October 2026. Following this, and after a brief scheduled break, the actor is expected to transition into Lokesh Kanagaraj's world. Allu Arjun has evolved from a premier Telugu superstar into a global icon, a transition accelerated by the historic success of the Pushpa franchise. His unique ability to command massive box office numbers in the Hindi belt and international markets has cemented his status as one of the most bankable stars in India today. With his current market value at an all-time high, any project he attaches himself to becomes an immediate must-watch event for audiences and a high-stakes venture for distributors. His journey to the top is backed by years of consistent box office dominance. Even before his pan-India breakthrough, the Icon Star delivered massive hits such as Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), which amassed approximately ₹269 crore worldwide and became one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of its time. This reliability was established much earlier with commercial blockbusters like Sarrainodu (2016) and Duvvada Jagannadham (2017), both of which comfortably crossed the ₹100 crore gross mark, proving his immense pull long before the current pan-India era. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   However, it was Pushpa: The Rise (2021) that truly redefined his career trajectory. The film grossed over ₹350 crore worldwide, but its most significant feat was the performance of the Hindi-dubbed version. By contributing nearly ₹106 crore net from the Hindi belt alone, the film proved that Allu Arjun's appeal transcends language barriers. As Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to track for record-breaking opening numbers in 2026, his collaboration with visionary directors like Lokesh Kanagaraj is poised to set new benchmarks for Indian cinema. In the modern era of Indian cinema, Lokesh Kanagaraj has established himself as a formidable brand, distinguished by his visionary Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) and a signature style of high-stakes, gritty action storytelling. He is one of the rare filmmakers today whose name alone acts as a massive pull for audiences, capable of guaranteeing a record-breaking opening at the box office regardless of the star cast. His ability to blend technical brilliance with commercial sensibilities has made him a favorite among both critics and trade analysts. The director's recent track record is a testament to his unmatched box office dominance. His 2023 blockbuster, Leo, shattered multiple records to gross over ₹605 crore worldwide, cementing its position as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. This followed the monumental success of Vikram (2022), which revitalized the box office for legend Kamal Haasan by collecting over ₹414 crore globally.Even during the challenging pandemic period, his film Master (2021) managed to gross ₹223 crore worldwide ,despite 50% occupancy restrictions in many regions, proving that his storytelling resonates deeply even under adverse conditions. While Lokesh has primarily operated within the heart of Kollywood (Tamil cinema), collaborating with icons like Thalapathy Vijay and Kamal Haasan, his reported upcoming project with Allu Arjun (AA23) marks a historic shift in his career. This venture—rumored to be his long-cherished sci-fi dream project Irumbu Kai Mayavi—will be his first direct collaboration with a Telugu superstar in a primary lead role. While his dubbed films have consistently performed exceptionally well in the Telugu-speaking states, this project signifies his official foray into directing a hero from outside the Tamil industry. This move is expected to further expand his creative footprint, bridging the gap between the southern industries and the northern belts to create a truly national cinematic event.

Border 2 Runtime Update: Sunny Deol Starrer Joins Animal and Pushpa 2 in the Elite 3-Hour Club

New details regarding the theatrical presentation of the upcoming war sequel Border 2 have emerged. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the film is expected to have a runtime of approximately 200 minutes (3 hours and 20 minutes). This duration officially places the production in the 3-hour plus club, a trend increasingly seen in high-budget Indian cinema. The extensive length is reportedly necessary to accommodate a multi-perspective narrative that covers the operations of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. For years, a three-hour runtime was considered a significant box office risk, but recent trends have completely shattered this long-standing myth.Border 2 is now following in the footsteps of a string of All-Time Blockbusters that dared to be lengthy and were rewarded with historic collections. Animal (2023) led the charge with a runtime of 3 hours and 21 minutes, where Ranbir Kapoor's gritty drama defied industry norms to gross over ₹915 crore worldwide. This was followed by the massive success of Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024); Allu Arjun's sequel clocked in at 3 hours and 20 minutes—with a reloaded version extending even further—and went on a record-breaking spree to amass an estimated ₹1,742 crore globally. Most recently, the spy thriller Dhurandhar (2025) entered the club with an expansive runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes, becoming a monumental hit by crossing the ₹1,200 crore mark worldwide. These films have collectively proven that when the content is engaging and immersive, audiences are more than willing to invest their time, effectively turning long runtimes into a hallmark of grand, must-watch cinematic events. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   Directed by Anurag Singh (of Kesari fame) and produced by the legendary J.P. Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and Bhushan Kumar (T-Series), Border 2 is being mounted as India's biggest war spectacle. The film boasts a massive ensemble cast led by Sunny Deol, reprising his iconic persona, alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The supporting cast includes Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh, ensuring a diverse and emotional narrative. The film is not a direct remake but a spiritual successor that focuses on the untold bravery of the 1971 war. The makers have reportedly ensured that the 200-minute runtime is packed with massy patriotic moments, high-octane action, and emotional depth, similar to the 1997 classic. A major highlight is the recreated soundtrack, including the recently released Ghar Kab Aaoge, a tribute to the original's legendary Sandese Aate Hain. Border 2 is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on January 23, 2026, perfectly timed to capitalize on the Republic Day long weekend. Interestingly, January 2026 is shaping up to be a month of epic runtimes; besides Border 2, Prabhas's The Raja Saab (3h 9m) and Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan (3h 3m) are also set to dominate the big screen with their lengthy durations. As the final edit of Border 2 heads for censorship, the industry expects it to secure a U/A certificate, paving the way for a massive family audience turnout this Republic Day.

Its remarkable performance is a testament to its widespread appeal, drawing massive audiences to theaters well into its theatrical run. Here is a look at the updated list of the top 5 highest-grossing Indian films, with their worldwide collections as tracked by industry data portal Sacnilk: Top 5 Highest-Grossing Indian Films (Worldwide)RankTitleWorldwide Gross Collection1Dangal₹ 2070.3 Cr2Baahubali 2: The Conclusion₹ 1788.06 Cr3Pushpa 2: The Rule₹ 1742.1 Cr4RRR₹ 1230 Cr5Dhurandhar₹ 1182.25 Cr(As of Day 30) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   Leading the pack is Aamir Khan's Dangal, which achieved unprecedented success by becoming the only Indian film to cross the monumental ₹2,000 crore mark at the worldwide box office. This historic milestone was overwhelmingly driven by its phenomenal performance in China, where it earned over ₹1,300 crore, becoming one of the highest-grossing foreign films ever in that market. At the time of its release, Dangal also ranked among the top five highest-grossing non-English films globally, cementing its place in cinematic history. Following this was S.S. Rajamouli's epic fantasy, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which fundamentally changed the landscape of Indian cinema. It shattered all existing records by becoming the very first Indian film to gross over ₹1,000 crore worldwide, setting a new and formidable benchmark for success. The film's grandeur and storytelling captivated the nation, popularizing the pan-India film model and remaining the highest-grossing film in India to date. Dominating 2024, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule was a box office behemoth, becoming one of India's highest-grossing films ever. The film achieved an unprecedented feat by crossing the ₹1,000 crore global mark in under ten days. Its Hindi-dubbed version created history by becoming the first to cross the ₹800 crore net mark, proving its immense pan-India appeal. The release of a special Reloaded Version with extra footage further boosted its collections, cementing its place among Indian cinema's all-time greats. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   Another masterpiece from S.S. Rajamouli, RRR, also became a global phenomenon. It set an all-time record for the highest opening day for an Indian film, grossing ₹223 crores worldwide. The film went on to cross the ₹1,000 crore mark and achieved massive success in international markets, particularly in Japan, where it became the highest-grossing Indian film ever. Its cultural impact was solidified when the song Naatu Naatu won an Academy Award, a historic first for an Indian feature film. The latest film to join this illustrious list, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, has been a box office juggernaut. The spy action thriller captivated audiences from day one, setting new benchmarks for success. It created history by becoming the first film in Indian cinema to score double-digit net collections (₹10 crore or more) for an unprecedented 29 consecutive days, showcasing its remarkable consistency and audience reception. The film's appeal was not limited to domestic shores; it made a significant impact internationally, breaking into the top 10 at the North American box office during its opening weekend. This rare achievement for an Indian film, combined with its sustained high theater occupancy, has cemented Dhurandhar's entry into the top 5 and highlighted the continued evolution and commercial power of the Indian film industry.

Mumbai, January 2 - Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar has become the highest Bollywood ticket seller on BookMyShow, after beating Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava. The spy actioner continues to rewrite history at the box office and is breaking records with each passing day. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has sold 13+ million tickets so far on BMS, beating Chhaava, which sold 12.50+ million tickets on the platform, followed by Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (12.40+ million) and Maddock's horror comedy Stree 2 (11.15+ million). (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The biggest movie on BookMyShow is Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule, with nearly 20 million tickets, followed by Kantara Chapter and Dhurandhar. The Ranveer Singh-starrer has still enough legs left to outnumber the Rishab Shetty-starrer to emerge as the number 2 film on the platform. Dhurandhar is racing towards beating Pushpa 2's 810+ crores net collection to become the highest-grossing movie ever in the Hindi language at the domestic box office. The film has so far scored 740 crores (885+ crores gross) in 28 days, as the second biggest grosser. Worldwide, the spy actioner is nearing 1150 crores and is likely to beat Jawan's 1160 crores gross to become the biggest Bollywood blockbuster (without China) by today or tomorrow. Dhurandhar Box Office (Worldwide): Becomes Highest-Grossing Indian Film In A Single Language

Mumbai, December 30 - Director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar continues to set new benchmarks for Indian cinema with a lifetime theatrical run. Having already crossed 1000 crores at the worldwide box office, the spy action thriller has now become the highest-grossing Indian title of all-time in a single language. The Ranveer Singh-starrer is the only non-multilingual Indian film to enter 1000 crores (without China). However, it was Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 and Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which were the biggest Indian grossers in a single language, having crossed 1050+ crores each in the Hindi version at the worldwide box office, before Dhurandhar surpassed them. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The latest box office phenomenon has become the biggest Indian grosser of all-time in a single language, having already crossed the 1075 crores mark through the 4th Monday. The first of the two-part saga will enter 1100 crores worldwide by today or tomorrow. Overall, Dhurandhar is currently the 7th biggest Indian grosser when taking all versions. By the next weekend, it will become the biggest Bollywood grosser, by crossing Jawan's 1160 crores worldwide cume in all versions. Aamir Khan's Dangal, however, is currently the biggest Indian grosser with 2070 crores, but more than 1300 crores of its collection came from China, which is not a regular market for Indian films. Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh Film Smashes All-Time 4th Weekend and Week Record, Beats Pushpa 2

Mumbai, December 28 – Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar has once again rewritten the Bollywood box office record books by delivering an unprecedented fourth weekend domestically. The Aditya Dhar-directed spy action thriller has emerged not just as a blockbuster but as a historic theatrical phenomenon, setting benchmarks that are looking unreal. Dhurandhar collected a massive 58 crore net collection in its 4th weekend, after another 20+ crores on Sunday. What makes the achievement even more extraordinary is that the film has also gone on to register the biggest fourth week in Hindi, comfortably surpassing Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule, which had collected 53.75 crore net in its fourth week. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) These are unheard numbers for an Indian film in the 4th week. With this sensational run, Dhurandhar's total domestic net collection has crossed 690 crore in just 24 days, which is already the highest-ever net total for a Bollywood film. No other Hindi film in history has managed to reach this milestone, underlining the film's exceptional word-of-mouth and repeat audience value. The film's sustained dominance at the box office is particularly remarkable given that collections usually witness a sharp decline after the third week. Instead, Dhurandhar has defied conventional trends, maintaining strong occupancy across multiplexes and mass circuits alike, while continuing to draw audiences despite new releases over the Christmas weekend. Dhurandhar will be crossing the 700 crores mark by tomorrow or Tuesday, and then, its journey to beat Pushpa 2's 800+ crores Hindi net will commence. With new releases failing to challenge the film's dominance, the Ranveer Singh-starrer is well on course to become the number 1 Hindi grosser of all-time. Stay tuned...

Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh-starrer Becomes The Highest-Grossing Bollywood Film Domestically

Mumbai, December 26 - Jio Studios and B62 Studios' spy action thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film at the Indian box office, surpassing superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan in just three 3 weeks. Displaying unprecedented box office dominance, Aditya Dhar's directorial continues to crush every release in its path, with Jawan becoming its latest casualty. The 2023 Shah Rukh Khan-fronted action drama had amassed an impressive 760 crore gross in India, a figure that has now been outnumbered by Dhurandhar, cementing its position as the biggest Bollywood blockbuster ever in the domestic market. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) When it comes to Hindi language grossers, only Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule currently stands ahead of Dhurandhar. The Telugu juggernaut charted its own historic run, nearly touching the 1000 crore (950+ crores) mark in its Hindi-dubbed version in India. Dhurandhar is trending stronger than Pushpa 2 currently, and if the momentum sustains, it could well become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. By the end of its fourth Friday, Dhurandhar will overtake Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD (767 crore India gross) to become the fifth highest-grossing film of all time in India. Notably, all four films above it on the list enjoyed the advantage of multilingual releases, an advantage that Dhurandhar does not have. On the worldwide front, the first instalment of the two-part saga is set to cross the 1000 crore gross milestone by the end of today. With this, Dhurandhar will become the first Indian film of 2025 and the ninth film of all time to enter the coveted 1000 crore club globally. Stay tuned...

Upcoming Films of Allu Arjun: A Power-Packed Line-Up For Icon Star

Hyderabad, December 24 – Following the career-defining success of Pushpa 2 - The Rule, Telugu superstar Allu Arjun is gearing up for one of the most exciting phases of his career. After redefining pan-India stardom with the Pushpa franchise, the Icon Star has lined up an ambitious slate of projects that bring together some of the most influential filmmakers in South Indian cinema. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The biggest and most advanced project in the pipeline is Allu Arjun's collaboration with blockbuster director Atlee. Currently in production, the sci-fi film, tentatively called AA22xA6, is shaping up to be a large-scale entertainer with global appeal. Given Atlee's track record with high-octane spectacles, expectations from this project are sky-high. One of the most exciting prospects in Allu Arjun's line-up is the near-confirmed collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj, the filmmaker behind the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Currently in advance stage of discussions, the film could see Allu Arjun in a gritty, intense avatar unlike anything he has done before. Lokesh has reportedly put his Kaithi 2 in backburner for Allu Arjun's film, which is likely to start after AA22. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) A collaboration, which was supposed to happen immediately after Pushpa 2, AA's film with his Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo director Trivikram Srinivas, is back on track and is said to be confirmed. Trivikram was initially supposed to collaborate with Jr. NTR on the same script, a mythological epic, but it is now back with Allu Arjun, who was originally going to headline it. The duo has previously delivered cult hits and blockbusters. As per reports, it will go on floors in March 2027. Before the aforementioned three films, Allu Arjun announced his maiden collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, but the project was pushed back for some reasons. It has been one of the most talked-about collaborations, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his intense and polarising storytelling. While the timeline of the project is not yet known, the film is reportedly confirmed, despite no updates since its official announcement a couple of years ago. With directors like Atlee, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Trivikram, and Sandeep Reddy Vanga in his line-up, Allu Arjun is clearly positioning himself at the crossroads of mass cinema and auteur-driven storytelling. This power-packed slate not only reinforces the actor's pan-India dominance but also signals a bold creative evolution for him, who seems to be in no mood to look back. Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 23 - Ranveer Singh-fronted Dhurandhar has once again topped Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule before the deadline ends, by becoming the biggest third week grosser at the Hindi box office in just 4 days. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy action thriller has minted approximately 111.75 crores net in just 4 days of the third week, outgrossing the entire third week collection of Pushpa 2, which minted 103 crores net in Hindi in December last year. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Earlier, Dhurandhar had recorded the biggest second week also in just 5 days, showing a trend like no other film in Indian cinema history. 2025 has been the year of the Pan India Reality Check. The Hindi audience has become ruthless embracing authentic rooted stories like Kantara with open arms while coldly rejecting generic mass actioners, even those starring heavyweights like Pawan Kalyan and Kamal Haasan. While Rishab Shetty emerged as the undisputed king of the Hindi box office this year, other highly anticipated projects like Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie and Suriya's Retro posted numbers that fell short of their astronomical pre release hype. From folklore to gangster dramas, here is the ultimate report card of how South Indian films performed in the Hindi belt this year. Movie Industry Hindi Net Collection Kantara: Chapter 1 Sandalwood ₹223.79 Cr Coolie Kollywood ₹37.23 Cr Game Changer Tollywood ₹32.93 Cr Mirai Tollywood ₹16.86 Cr Baahubali: The Epic Animation ₹6.94 Cr HIT: The Third Case Tollywood ₹4.11 Cr Kannappa Tollywood ₹3.98 Cr Lokah: Chapter 1 Mollywood ₹3.78 Cr They Call Him OG Tollywood ₹3.36 Cr L2: Empuraan Mollywood ₹2.59 Cr Thug Life Kollywood ₹1.70 Cr The Girlfriend Tollywood ₹ 0.60 Cr Madharasi Kollywood ₹0.50 Cr Retro Kollywood ₹ 0.49 Cr Daaku Maharaaj Tollywood ₹ 0.40 Cr Hari Hara Veera Mallu Tollywood ₹ 0.33 Cr Bad Girl Kollywood ₹0.06 Cr 1. Kantara:Chapter 1 Industry:Sandalwood (Kannada) Director:Rishab Shetty Star Cast:Rishab Shetty,Rukmini Vasanth
The prequel to the 2022 divine blockbuster Kantara shattered ceilings. Delving deeper into the origins of the Panjurli Daiva during the Kadamba era, the film offered a visual spectacle that was both raw and grandiose. The Divine climax once again became a cultural talking point, driving repeat audiences in Maharashtra and the Hindi belt. It stands as the only true All Time Blockbuster from the South in Hindi this year. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) 2. Coolie Industry:Kollywood (Tamil) Director:Lokesh Kanagaraj Star Cast:Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir.
The union of Thalaivar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj was expected to set the screens on fire. A stylish gangster drama involving a gold-smuggling syndicate, the film had massive hype. However, the Hindi numbers (₹ 37.23 Cr) suggest it played more to the gallery of existing fans rather than breaking out to the neutral Hindi audience like Vikram or Jailer. 3.Game Changer Industry:Tollywood (Telugu) Director:S. Shankar Star Cast:Ram Charan, Kiara Advani.
Coming off the global high of RRR, Ram Charan teamed up with the showman Shankar. While the film's political theme resonated in the South, the Hindi audience found the narrative slightly dated. ₹ 32.93 Cr is a respectable total but falls short of the expectations set for a Ram Charan and Shankar collaboration. 4.Mirai Industry:Tollywood (Telugu) Director:Karthik Ghattamaneni Star Cast:Teja Sajja, Ritika Nayak.
The surprise package of the year. After HanuMan, Teja Sajja cemented his position with Mirai. Based on the legend of Ashoka's 9 secret books, this Super Yodha film connected well with kids and families, earning nearly ₹ 17 Cr purely on concept strength without a Tier-1 star. 5. Baahubali:The Epic Industry:Pan India (Re-release/Edit) Director:S.S. Rajamouli Star Cast:Prabhas,Anushka Shetty
To celebrate the franchise's legacy, the makers released a special Single Film edit of the two part saga with remastered visuals. While die hard fans turned up, the ₹ 6.95 Cr collection proves that the audience prefers new content over nostalgia trips in theaters. 6. HIT:The Third Case Industry:Tollywood (Telugu) Director:Sailesh Kolanu Star Cast:Nani, Srinidhi Shetty.
Nani entered the HIT universe as Arjun Sarkar. While the film was a critical success in Telugu, the dark, gritty thriller genre has a limited ceiling in the Hindi dubbed market unless backed by massive marketing, reflected in its niche ₹ 4.11 Cr collection. 7. Kannappa Industry:Tollywood (Telugu) Director:Mukesh Kumar Singh Star Cast:Vishnu Manchu,Preity Mukhundhan (Cameos: Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal).
Despite a star-studded lineup of cameos including Prabhas and Akshay Kumar, this mythological drama starring Vishnu Manchu failed to generate buzz in the Hindi belt, collecting a meager ₹ 3.98 Cr. 8. Lokah:Chapter 1 - Chandra Industry:Mollywood(Malayalam) Director:Dominic Arun Star Cast:Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen, Sandy.
Malayalam cinema's ambitious entry into the superhero genre! Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, the film was praised for its VFX and unique world-building. For a Malayalam film without a traditional Mass Hero, earning ₹ 3.78 Cr in Hindi is a positive sign of growth. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) 9.They Call Him OG Industry:Tollywood (Telugu) Director:Sujeeth Star Cast:Pawan Kalyan, Priyanka Mohan.
The biggest shocker of the list. Pawan Kalyan's gangster drama, despite featuring Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist, crashed in Hindi with just ₹ 3.36 Cr. It highlights that Pawan Kalyan's stardom is still strictly regional compared to peers like Prabhas or Allu Arjun. 10. L2:Empuraan Industry:Mollywood (Malayalam) Director:Prithviraj Sukumaran Star Cast:Mohanlal, Manju Warrier,Prithviraj. The sequel to Lucifer. While a massive blockbuster in Kerala, the complex political drama of Empuraan proved too dense for the mass Hindi audience, collecting just ₹ 2.59 Cr. 11. Thug Life Industry:Kollywood (Tamil) Director:Mani Ratnam Star Cast:Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan,Silambarasan TR.
The reunion of legends Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan after decades was a cinematic event, but sadly, only for Tamil Nadu. The Hindi version was a non-starter (₹ 1.7 Cr), proving that Class Classics rarely translate to Mass Hindi Box Office. 12.The Girlfriend
 Industry:Tollywood (Telugu)
 Director:Rahul Ravindran
 Star Cast:Rashmika Mandanna, Dheekshith Shetty.

A solo lead thriller by Rashmika Mandanna. While she is a National Crush, the film's niche subject matter restricted its appeal, leading to a washout in the Hindi dubbed version.
 13.Madharasi
 Director:A.R.Murugadoss
 Star Cast:Sivakarthikeyan, Vidyut Jammwal.

Despite being directed by A.R.Murugadoss (known for Ghajini) and starring Vidyut Jammwal (a known face in Hindi), this film was a disaster in Hindi. It seems the audience has moved past the 2000s style of commercial filmmaking.
 14.Retro Industry:Kollywood (Tamil) Director:Karthik Subbaraj Star Cast:Suriya, Pooja Hegde.
Also known as Suriya 44, this stylish actioner by Karthik Subbaraj was expected to be Suriya's big theatrical comeback in Hindi. The shocking collection of less than ₹ 50 Lakhs indicates a complete failure in marketing or release strategy in the North. 15.Daaku Maharaaj
 Industry:Tollywood (Telugu)
 Director:Bobby Kolli
 Star Cast:Nandamuri Balakrishna, Bobby Deol

Even the presence of Bobby Deol (fresh off Animal fame) couldn't save this Balakrishna mass entertainer in Hindi. The over the top action style of NBK clearly has zero takers in the Hindi belt in 2025.
 16. Hari Hara Veera Mallu
 Industry:Tollywood (Telugu)
 Director:Krish Jagarlamudi,Jyoti Krishna
 Star Cast:Pawan Kalyan, Bobby Deol.

A delayed period drama that felt stale upon arrival. With collections of just ₹33 Lakhs, it stands as a significant commercial underperformer for a star of Pawan Kalyan's stature.
 (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) 17.Bad Girl Industry:Kollywood (Tamil) Director:Varsha Bharath Star Cast:Anjali Sivaraman.
A small budget coming of age drama produced by heavyweights like Vetrimaaran. While critically acclaimed in festivals, it was virtually non-existent at the Hindi box office. Ultimately, 2025 will be remembered as the year the Hindi market transitioned from being a star reliant territory to a landscape defined by audience discernment. The staggering gap between Kantara (₹223 Cr) and generic mass entertainers highlights a significant shift in viewer preferences. When highly anticipated projects featuring legends struggle to gain traction while a rooted folklore thriller creates history, the trend is undeniable. The era of blind loyalty to formulaic tropes is fading, making way for a new chapter of content supremacy.
