Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3 Announcement Teaser Is Ready

Mumbai, September 30 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is set to return as Vijay Salgaonkar in the third installment of the blockbuster crime suspense thriller franchise, Drishyam. After scroing the big success with the first two parts, the franchise is set to be concluded with Drishyam 3. While the news about Drishyam 3 has already been reported in the media, the official announcement of the same is around the corner. According to the latest reports, a 1 minute and 17 seconds announcement promo of Drishyam 3 has been censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on September 29. The announcement of the movie is expected to be made in the next couple of days as the makers set to begin shooting on October 2nd. Abhishek Pathak will return to direct the third installment which will also feature the original cast of Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Rajat Kapoor alongwith Akshaye Khanna. Produced by Panorama Studios, Viacom18 Studios, and T-Series, Drishyam 3 has been scheduled to release on October 2, 2026, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. It is not yet clear if it is the remake of Malayalam version of Mohanlal Drishaym 3, which recently started shooting, and will be released in March 19, 2026, on Eid. Stay tuned...

Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 Release Date Revealed, As Director Jeetu Joseph Warns Fans

Kochi, September 16 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is all set to return as Georgekutty in Drishyam 3, the highly anticipated conclusion to director Jeethu Joseph's cult thriller franchise. The movie was recently announced officially, with the shooting scheduled to take place this month. While fans are eagerly awaiting another gripping and twist-laden thriller, Jeethu Joseph has issued a word of caution. Whenever the audience hears about Drishyam, they start thinking about the twists and turns in the plot, which leave them speechless. But they might have to lower their expectations this time. Addressing speculation about the tone of the new film, Jeethu Joseph revealed (as per India Today) that audiences should not expect Drishyam 3 to be a heavy, mind-bending film like its predecessors. Instead, the narrative will focus more on the evolution of Georgekutty's character after the dramatic events of Drishyam 2. Jeethu explained that this instalment is designed to explore Georgekutty's transformation as a person, his moral dilemmas, and how the weight of past secrets continues to shape his future. Unlike the intricately layered plotting of the first two parts, the third film promises a more emotional and character-driven journey, highlighting the human side of its protagonist. The filmmaker revealed that he has already completed the script. The team is reportedly planning simultaneous production for Malayalam and Telugu versions, continuing the pan-Indian appeal of the franchise. Meanwhile, according to the latest Malayalam media reports, the makers have locked the Eid 2026 release date for Drishyam 3. There have been reports that the makers were looking to release the movie on Christmas 2025, as the shoot is expected to be wrapped quickly. While that option is still available, March 19, 2026, is looking more probable, given the limited time the makers have. If the March 19, 2026 release date holds, Drishyam 3 will arrive nearly five years after Drishyam 2, which released directly on OTT in 2021 due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, the Hindi version of Drishyam 3 is also in development and is expected to start rolling in the first week of October 2025. The Ajay Devgn-fronted film has locked an October 2, 2026, release date for the same. Stay tuned...

Dhamaal 4 Wraps Filming: Ajay Devgn and Team Re-confirm A Blockbuster Box Office Clash As Complete Cast Reveal

Mumbai, September 6 – The wait for one of Bollywood's most beloved comedy franchises just got more exciting as the shoot of Dhamaal 4, directed by Indra Kumar, has officially wrapped up, and the makers have reconfirmed its release date for Eid 2026. Fronted by Ajay Devgn, the fourth instalment brings back the iconic trio of Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, and Jaaved Jaaferi, who have been synonymous with the franchise's success. The upcoming film also marks the return of Sanjay Mishra and Esha Gupta from the last film, while also featuring Upendra Limaye, Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Ravi Kishan. Produced by T-Series, Maruti International, Ajay Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios, one of the most star-studded comedies in recent years promises to be a laughter-filled extravaganza that continues the legacy of Indra Kumar's comedy blockbusters. Aaj ki taaza khabar, brought to you by the gang, jo ab jald hi lootne aa rahe hain aapka dil…aur dimaag! 😉#Dhamaal4 arrives in cinemas on Eid 2026💥 @Riteishd @ArshadWarsi @jaavedjaaferi @imsanjaimishra #UpendraLimaye #AnjaliAnand @iamsanjeeda @ravikishann #EshaGupta… pic.twitter.com/VvBXSF7nY5— Ajay Devgn (@ajaydevgn) September 6, 2025 With its shooting wrapped and a powerhouse cast on board, fans can expect a perfect festive entertainer as the film gears up to hit theatres during Eid 2026. The Dhamaal franchise has been a fan-favourite since its inception, and with Ajay Devgn leading the madness this time, expectations are sky-high for another box office riot. Perfect But Highly Risky Release Date While Eid is a lucrative festive weekend for the box office, it is going to be a highly risky affair for the 2026 release. With Dhamaal 4 sticking to the original plan, the movie will have to face a mighty clash with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal's Love & War, along with Yash's Toxic, which are slated for a March 19 debut. It needs to be seen if all three films, arrive on Eid 2026, which is unlikely.

The Conjuring: Last Rites Emerges as Biggest Horror Opener at The Indian Box Office, Beating Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan

Mumbai, September 5 – Warner Bros. Pictures' horror thriller The Conjuring: Last Rites storms into Indian cinemas with record-breaking numbers. The latest instalment in the iconic Conjuring Universe, directed by Michael Chaves, has emerged as the biggest opener in the horror genre in the country. As per early estimates, The Last Rites has grossed around 21 crores on day 1 in India in all languages. With this start, the movie is on course to beat the opening day record of Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan's Shaitaan, which grossed 17.50 crores on opening day last year. The film has generated immense buzz owing to the strong brand value of the franchise and the curiosity around its chilling narrative, which marks the final chapter of the Warrens' saga. The film's advance booking showed huge momentum, translating into packed shows across major cities. Multiplex chains, as well as single screens, are reporting high occupancy rates, with evening and night shows performing exceptionally well. If the momentum holds through the weekend, which is very likely, The Conjuring: Last Rites could not only become the highest-grossing horror opener in India but also set the stage for one of the best-ever runs for a horror film in the country. The strong start also highlights the growing acceptance of horror among Indian audiences, who have consistently supported films that deliver on thrills and suspense. With positive word of mouth, the film is expected to maintain its pace and solidify its place as a box office juggernaut in the genre. Stay tuned...

Param Sundari Box Office: Sidharth Malhotra Registers His 5th Biggest Opener

Mumbai, August 30 - Maddock Films’ romantic comedy Param Sundari has kicked off its box office journey on a promising note, emerging as one of the strongest openers of the year in its genre. The film, directed by Tushar Jalota, had decent pre-sales, which led to its expected opening. Headlined by Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, Param Sundari collected around 7.25 crore net on the opening day. This marks Sidharth's fifth biggest opening to date and his strongest since Thank God (2022). In terms of solo outings, it is his biggest opener since Marjaavaan (2019). Director Mohit Suri's Ek Villain (2014) continues to remain Sidharth's career-best opening day grosser with 16.70 crores net, followed by 2015's Brothers (15.21 crores), which also starred Akshay Kumar. Thank God, co-starring Ajay Devgn, takes the 3rd spot at 8.10 crores, while the actor's debut movie, Student Of The Year (2014), is the 4th biggest opener with 7.48 crores net. Param Sundari's good start comes as a welcome relief for Malhotra, who has struggled at the box office in the post-pandemic era. Backed by positive critics' reviews and encouraging word of mouth, the rom-com is poised to enjoy a solid opening weekend, which is expected to be around 30 crores net. Stay tuned...

From Student of the Year to Param Sundari: 13 Years of Sidharth Malhotra's Cinematic Journey

Mumbai, August 28 - Very few would have imagined the journey Sidharth Malhotra was going to have when he made his Bollywood debut with filmmaker Karan Johar's coming-of-age romantic comedy Student of the Year in 2012. Over the last 13 years, the actor has left a mark with films across romance, action, thrillers, and war drama genres. As he now gears up for his 2025 release, Param Sundari, here's a look at the highlights of his cinematic journey so far. The Debut and Early Success Filmmaker Karan Johar, famous for launching star kids in Bollywood, launched Sidharth alongside Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in Student of the Year (2012), a youthful drama that became a commercial success and positioned him as a promising newcomer. He followed it up with Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), a quirky rom-com where his chemistry with Parineeti Chopra was appreciated, and Ek Villain (2014), which marked his entry into the big league. Experimentation and Mixed Bag Phase After the big early success, Sidharth tested different genres over the next few years. In Brothers (2015), he attempted a high-intensity sports drama with superstar Akshay Kumar, as the film ended up as an average affair. Kapoor & Sons (2016), however, turned out to be a critical and commercial hit, showcasing him in an ensemble with a layered family drama. Films like Baar Baar Dekho (2016), A Gentleman (2017), Ittefaq (2017), and Aiyaary (2018) received mixed to negative responses, making this a challenging period for the actor. The Resurgence & Patriotic Turn Sidharth bounced back with Marjaavaan (2019), a massy romantic action film with seetimaar dialogues that connected with single-screen audiences. It was the biographical war drama, Shershaah (2021), that could have become the biggest box office success of the actor, but it was denied that chance due to its direct-to-digital release. It was still a game-changer for the actor as his portrayal of Captain Vikram Batra won widespread acclaim, bringing him critical respect, as he was hailed for delivering his career-best performance. Recent Works & Looking Ahead Post-Shershaah, Sidharth ventured into diverse territories. He shared screen with Ajay Devgn in the fantasy comedy-drama film Thank God (2022), which bombed at the box office, before he starred in a direct-to-digital release, Mission Majnu (2023), a patriotic spy thriller, and Yodha (2024), a high-octane action film. The actor's journey after the COVID-19 pandemic has hit a roadblock with no big success, barring Shershaah, which saved the day for him. The actor is now stepping into romantic comedy once again with Param Sundari (2025), co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. Billed as a breezy entertainer, the film is already generating buzz as a genre comeback for Sidharth after years of intense roles. The movie, from Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, is gearing up to hit the big screens on August 29, as a potential success for the actor. Across 13 years, Sidharth Malhotra's cinematic journey has had highs and lows, but what stands out is his resilience and ability to reinvent himself. From the candy-floss romance of Student of the Year to the grit of Shershaah, and now towards the playful charm of Param Sundari, he continues to remain a relevant and evolving presence in Bollywood. Going forward, the actor continues to experiment, as his next is a folk thriller, Vvan: Force of the Forrest, which releases next year. Stay tuned...

Top 5 Biggest Openers of Siddharth Malhotra: Param Sundari Eyes Entry In Top 3

Mumbai, August 24 - Actor Sidharth Malhotra has had an up-and-down journey in Bollywood with a mix of romantic dramas, action entertainers, and thrillers. Before the pandemic, he was a promising actor with a variety of films, but his trajectory took a downward turn after that, with not a single box office success . The actor's films used to deliver good opening-day numbers at the box office among his contemporaries, but things have changed over the last few years. One of the main reasons for the low openings of his films, as trade believes, is the lack of exciting content. With his upcoming release, Param Sundari, generating solid pre-release buzz, trade experts are curious to see if it can break into the actor's list of top openers. Sidharth's biggest opener remains Ek Villain (2014), which opened to a fantastic 16.70 crore net. It is closely followed by Brothers (2015), his big-ticket action drama alongside Akshay Kumar, which scored 15.21 crore net on day one. These two films remain miles ahead of the rest of his releases in terms of opening-day collections. In the third spot currently sits Thank God (2022), co-starring Ajay Devgn, which managed 8.10 crore net on its first day, despite clashing with big competition during the festive release window. His debut film Student of the Year (2012), directed by Karan Johar, made an impressive 7.48 crore net, marking a solid start for the actor's career. Rounding off the list is Marjaavaan (2019), a masala romantic action entertainer, which collected 7 crore net on opening day. With romantic-comedy Param Sundari, which has Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, set to hit theatres on August 29, trade is anticipating a comeback for Sidharth. Early box office projections suggest that the film could take a double-digit opening, thereby pushing itself into the Top 3 Openers of Sidharth Malhotra's career. It is currently one of the most-anticipated Bollywood titles as per IMDb, and if the audience reception matches the hype, it could be a long-awaited comeback for the SOTY star. Stay tuned...

Baaghi 4 Tops IMDb's 2025 Most Anticipated List: Will It Deliver at the Box Office?

Mumbai, August 23 - The anticipation is building up for Tiger Shroff's action thriller Baaghi 4, which is scheduled to hit the big screens on September 5. The makers are set to unveil the trailer on August 30, and are said to be confident that it to be the hype raiser. Meanwhile, the movie has already taken the spotlight as it climbed to the number one position on IMDb's real-time list of most anticipated Bollywood films of 2025. While earlier in January the film held the fifth spot behind other biggies like Sikandar and Coolie, its steady rise reflects growing audience interest. The upcoming action spectacle also gained buzz after its teaser, featuring Tiger Shroff in high-octane combat against Sanjay Dutt, received an A certificate from the CBFC, hinting at darker and more intense storytelling. The Baaghi franchise has always been synonymous with action-packed drama, and expectations are no different this time, though the upcoming film is completely different from the previous films, which were family-friendly. Baaghi 4 is the darkest and bloodiest film of the franchise yet. Nonetheless, the movie has been in the social media chatter, which also reflects in IMDb's most-anticipated titles, but the real question is, can this anticipation turn into box office numbers? The Baaghi franchise's past box office records present a mixed picture. The first two movies of the franchise were box office hits, but the third movie (2020) had to settle for an average verdict, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, which cut short its potential. It has been a long time since that, so the trade is not sure whether the upcoming film can still resonate with the masses, especially at a time when the franchise films are falling apart. With Baaghi 4 carrying a big budget, there are challenges ahead of it that it needs to overcome to become a box office hit. Despite the buzz soaring, the movie has to deal with franchise fatigue, which is real. As reported earlier, only one franchise movie, Raid 2, emerged box office hit, while others fell flat this year. For Baaghi 4 to join the Ajay Devgn-starrer, the makers will hope that the all-important trailer works well, and the movie manages to take a good opening, which has become a must for big-budget titles. The trade is also not sure whether Tiger's films still carry the same interest among the fans as they used to before the COVID-19 pandemic. The actor's last few films failed miserably, which is making the trade nervous about the upcoming film. It is a big challenge, which can be overcome with one good film which manages to strike a chord with the audience, and the makers would hope it does. The franchise fatigue, audience scepticism, and doubts over Tiger Shroff's box office pull following his recent underperformers are there, but if one thing is positive for the film is that the franchise still commands a loyal fan following, and Tiger’s popularity among action enthusiasts remains intact. To turn things in its favour as a whole, the film's trailer will be crucial in shaping audience sentiment ahead of its September 5 release. If early buzz translates into footfalls and the film delivers on scale and intensity, Baaghi 4 could emerge as one of the surprise winners of the year. Stay tuned...

Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 vs Siddhant Chaturvedi–Tripti Dimri's Dhadak 2 Box Office: A Final Nail In The Franchises' Coffin? Bollywood

Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 vs Siddhant Chaturvedi–Tripti Dimri's Dhadak 2 Box Office: A Final Nail In The Franchises' Coffin?

Mumbai, August 23 - In Hollywood, the superhero fatigue has been real, especially post the Covid-19 pandemic, where MCU and DC films (barring a few) have not performed to the level of pre-Covid. This led to debate whether the audience is moving away from superhero films, other than die-hard fans who are still keeping those films alive. While superhero films may or may not survive this fatigue in the long run in the West, there is franchise fatigue brewing in the Indian cinema, especially in Bollywood, and it seems real. In 2025, there have been half a dozen franchise Bollywood releases so far, and barring only Raid 2, all other films failed to become hits at the box office. The first week of August 2025 saw the release of two highly anticipated Bollywood sequels, Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 and Siddhant Chaturvedi-Tripti Dimri-starrer Dhadak 2. Both films carried the weight of their predecessors' names, but unfortunately, neither managed to ignite the box office, further showing the disconnection of audiences with sequels. While failure or success is the part and parcel of cinema, what was alarming was that these sequels struggled to even match the opening day numbers of their originals, sparking discussions about whether the franchises have reached their end. Even other franchise films like War 2 and Housefull 4 failed to take big openings, thus ending up as box office failures. Released on the same day, August 1st, Son of Sardaar 2 took an initial lead in the clash, with an underwhelming opening of around 7.25 crore. However, despite the better start compared to Dhadak 2, the film has grossed only around 65 crore worldwide in 3 weeks, ending up as a disaster. Ajay Devgn- On the other hand, Dhadak 2 fared even worse. Opening with a meagre 3.50 crore net, the film collected only 30 crores worldwide in 3 weeks. Despite featuring promising talent like Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri, the sequel failed to capture the cultural resonance that the first Dhadak—a remake of Sairat—enjoyed. The combined total of both films will be less than 100 crores, against over 260 crores of the original films. What made matters worse for both films was the dominance of Saiyaara, which has been on a record-breaking spree, and Mahavatar Narsimha, which continues to pull massive family audiences. With these two blockbusters commanding the majority of footfalls, Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 could not find breathing space at the ticket counters. In the end, while Son of Sardaar 2 clearly outperformed Dhadak 2 in raw numbers, both sequels have been branded as big flops. Their disappointing runs suggest that the audience's appetite for these franchises has dried up. Unless revived with radically fresh storytelling, this box office clash may well have hammered the final nail in the coffins of the Son of Sardaar and Dhadak series. Stay tuned...

Box Office 2025: Chhaava’s Historic ₹600 Cr Run, Saiyaara’s Pre-Booking Frenzy, and the Unstoppable Wave of This Year’s Highest Grossers

1. Chhaava – ₹807.88 crore - Chhaava was the powerful story of a brave hero, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. After Shivaji’s death in 1680, the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, played by Akshaye Khanna, and his court rejoiced, believing their fiercest enemy was gone. Confident and emboldened, they dreamed of capturing the Deccan region. But their joy was short-lived when Sambhaji Maharaj, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal, delivered a stunning blow— raiding Burhanpur and looting the Mughal treasury. Enraged, Aurangzeb swore revenge. Anticipating a Mughal retaliation, Sambhaji made strategic preparations to protect his kingdom. However, what he did not foresee was the betrayal within his own family—internal politics that made it easier for Aurangzeb to advance. What followed was a gripping tale of war, sacrifice, and the unwavering spirit of a leader who refused to surrender. ## Chhaava had not only captivated audiences but also rewritten the box office record books. With a staggering ₹600.10 crore at the domestic box office, it became Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing film to date, surpassing all his previous works and reaffirming his status as one of the most bankable stars of his generation. The film entered Bollywood’s most elite league, becoming only the fourth Indian film to cross the ₹600 crore mark domestically, joining the ranks of Pushpa 2: The Rule, Jawan, and Stree 2. ## This historic success also marked a milestone for Rashmika Mandanna, who etched her name in box office history. With Chhaava crossing ₹500 crore, she became the only actress with three consecutive blockbusters crossing the ₹500 crore mark. Her previous two hits—Animal and Pushpa 2: The Rule - combined with Chhaava, completed a unique and unmatched hat-trick, cementing her position as one of the most formidable stars in Indian cinema. Chhaava was not just a film—it was a cinematic triumph that blended legacy, valour, and mass appeal into an unforgettable experience.## 2. Saiyaara – ₹512crore - Saiyaara was a film of many firsts—it marked the much-anticipated acting debut of Ahaan Panday, the first collaboration between acclaimed director Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films (YRF), and also the producing debut of Akshaye Widhani. Moreover, it held the distinction of being the first YRF theatrical release with Netflix as its official OTT partner. ## The story revolved around Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda), a closet poet heartbroken after being abandoned at the altar, who later crossed paths with Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), an aspiring singer with a temper and a passion for music. When Krish read one of Vaani’s poems, he was mesmerised and invited her to write lyrics for his songs. As they worked together, love blossomed, but their relationship faced unexpected challenges, forming the emotional core of the narrative. ## In what could only be described as a spectacular dream run, Saiyaara crossed the ₹500-crore mark at the worldwide box office within just 18 days of its theatrical release, firmly establishing itself as one of the year’s biggest successes. Starring debutant Ahaan Panday alongside Aneet Padda, the romantic action drama became the second film of 2025 to enter the elite ₹500 Crore club, following the record-breaking Chhaava. Saiyaara also made headlines for its massive pre-release buzz, emerging as the highest pre-booked film among several top titles. Saiyaara had registered the highest number of pre-bookings. At that time, it ranked 28th among the top booking grossers at MovieMax. ## Some of the films ahead of it included Jurassic World: Rebirth (2,087 tickets), Badass Ravi Kumar (2,400 tickets; benefited from the Rs. 99 offer), Fighter (2,850 tickets), Sikandar (3,700 tickets), Kalki 2898 AD (5,100 tickets), Dunki (6,300 tickets), Brahmastra (6,500 tickets), Singham Again (7,000 tickets), Jawan (17,500 tickets), Animal (18,600 tickets), Stree 2 (21,870 tickets), Chhaava (21,900 tickets), and Pushpa 2 – The Rule (22,500 tickets). Meanwhile, Saiyaara had surpassed prominent films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (1,400 tickets), Sitaare Zameen Par (1,262 tickets), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1,175 tickets), and Kesari Chapter 2 (1,146 tickets).## Housefull 5– ₹288.58 crore - Akshay Kumar’s madcap entertainer Housefull 5 stormed into cinemas with an explosive start, collecting ₹24.35 crore on its opening day. This thunderous debut rewrote the franchise’s record books, surpassing all previous instalments by a wide margin. The journey had begun with Housefull (2010) at ₹10 crore, followed by Housefull 2 (2012) at ₹14 crore, Housefull 3 (2016) at ₹15.21 crore, and Housefull 4 (2019) at ₹16.50 crore—making the fifth chapter the undisputed champion of the series and another box-office triumph for Akshay Kumar. ##The film also achieved good success globally, becoming Akshay Kumar’s widest international release. It played in over 85 countries, reached more than 1,300 venues, and ran on over 2,000 screens worldwide—a new benchmark for both the star and the franchise that reflected its massive global appeal. The story unfolds on a luxury cruise owned by Ranjeet Dobriyal, Britain’s seventh-richest man, during his 100th birthday celebration. After Ranjeet’s sudden death, his will names a son from his first marriage—Jolly—as heir. Chaos erupts when three different men claim to be Jolly, each with a wife in tow. A DNA test is planned, but a night of wild partying ends with the murder of a doctor. Two quirky detectives board the ship to unravel the mystery, leading to a storm of mistaken identities, comic twists, and revelations on the high seas.## ## Sitaare Zameen Par – ₹267.34 crore - Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par was a heartfelt Hindi drama directed by RS Prasanna and starred Aamir Khan alongside Genelia Deshmukh, marking her much-anticipated comeback after 13 years. The film brought together a talented ensemble cast in a story that blended emotional depth with an inspiring message, while also breaking new ground in accessibility, making it a cinematic experience for audiences of all abilities. In the last quarter of the millennium, ‘mainstream’ Hindi cinema had evolved to mean far more than standard (and sometimes substandard) entertainers. A growing segment of these films focused on stories—mostly fictional—about people with medical afflictions and disabilities. ## Just recently, audiences had seen the sensitive Tanvi—The Great, which explored autism with depth and compassion. For films built around such themes, disabilities needed to be portrayed in a positive and wholesomely compassionate light—avoiding frivolity, as seen in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan (on blindness), or the kind of opportunistic, artificially convenient depiction found in Saiyaara. The balance needed to ensure that the ‘entertainment quotient’ worked in harmony with the ‘emotional quotient’ and, importantly, the ‘intelligence quotient’. ## Encouragingly, most films in this space had not only succeeded commercially but had also enhanced awareness, understanding, and acceptance of individuals facing such challenges. Marking a significant moment in this movement was Genelia Deshmukh’s return to cinema after 13 years in Sitaare Zameen Par, produced by Aamir Khan. In a groundbreaking achievement for global cinema, the film became the first in the world to feature all major accessibility features—closed captions, audio description, and Indian Sign Language—ensuring that audiences with visual, hearing, or speech impairments could experience it with dignity and independence.## This heartfelt drama had a strong start, opening to ₹10.50 crore on Day 1, followed by an impressive overseas opening weekend collection of 3.10 million USD (₹26.83 crore), underscoring that films with both emotional depth and inclusive vision resonated powerfully across borders.## Raid 2 – ₹237 crore - Starring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, and Rajat Kapoor, and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 emerged as the 42nd success and 17th hit for Ajay Devgn. The movie followed Income Tax Officer Amay Patnaik in 1989 as he was transferred to Bhoj after a controversial raid in Jaipur. There, he confronted influential cabinet minister Manohar Dhankar, aka Dada Bhai, a revered figure who was secretly steeped in corruption. Determined to expose him, Amay launched a massive raid, only to find nothing, forcing him to change tactics against his shrewdest opponent yet. What followed was a gripping battle of wits, strategy, and perseverance to bring the untouchable politician to justice. The movie was released on Netflix on June 26 and received a strong audience response for its gripping drama and performances. However, Raid 2 It couldn’t impress much compared to its predecessor. ## In the end, this season proved to be a milestone period for Indian cinema, with each film carving its mark at the box office. Chhaava emerged as the undisputed champion, not just for its gripping portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj but also for rewriting history with over ₹600 crore domestically and cementing Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s records. Saiyaara made waves with its exceptional pre-booking numbers, holding its own against major blockbusters and delivering a solid opening that justified the early hype. Sitaare Zameen Par, Raid 2, and Housefull 5 also had their moments—drawing in crowds with their unique appeal and contributing to a vibrant, competitive box office. Together, these films demonstrated the diversity of storytelling and star power in today’s industry—proving that whether it’s historical grandeur, high-octane thrillers, or light-hearted entertainers, audiences are willing to show up in massive numbers when the big screen delivers a memorable experience. ## Stay tuned...
