About This Movie

Jawan Jawan begins with Azad Rathore (Shah Rukh Khan), a principled jailer who secretly leads a group of highly skilled women inmates on bold missions against corrupt leaders, businessmen, and politicians. Operating under the guise of justice, Azad captures public attention as a masked vigilante, exposing the failures of the system while stirring hope among the common people. His acts of rebellion aren’t just about revenge but about giving the voiceless a chance to demand accountability. As the story unfolds, Azad's mysterious past slowly comes to light. He is revealed to be the son of Vikram Rathore (also Shah Rukh Khan), a brave soldier who was betrayed by corrupt officials and presumed dead. Azad’s life mission stems from his father's unfinished fight against the system and his own deep scars of growing up without him. This revelation adds layers of emotion and conflict, as the father-son duo confronts their fractured bond while uniting for a common purpose. The narrative crescendos into a gripping battle between the Rathores and their powerful enemies. With themes of justice, sacrifice, and redemption, the film blends adrenaline-pumping action with an emotional father-son saga. In the end, Jawan becomes not just a tale of personal vengeance but a larger commentary on social change, urging people to question those in power and inspiring them to fight for a more just society.

The Pioneers of Bollywood's Box Office: Charting the Journey from the 50 Cr to the 700 Cr Club

In the dynamic world of Bollywood, the crore club is the ultimate benchmark for commercial success, a testament to a film's widespread appeal and box office dominance. Over the decades, this prestigious club has evolved, with its entry points constantly being pushed higher by cinematic giants. From the first film to net ₹50 crores to the latest behemoth crossing the ₹700 crore mark, this journey chronicles the evolution of the Hindi film industry's scale, reach, and audience. Here's a look at the pioneering actors and films that inaugurated each of these milestone clubs, setting new standards for success in Indian cinema. The journey began in the pre-multiplex era with Salman Khan's Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994). A cultural phenomenon, it became the first Hindi film to cross the ₹50 crore net mark, a staggering achievement for its time. With record-breaking footfalls of approximately 7.4 crores, its success revived the family entertainer genre and cemented its place as the highest-grossing Indian film of the 20th century. The modern box office era, however, was truly kicked off by Aamir Khan's Ghajini (2008). It became the first film to officially inaugurate the coveted ₹100 Crore Club, driven by a powerful marketing campaign and Aamir's physical transformation. The film set a new benchmark for what was commercially possible, becoming the highest-grossing film of 2008. Aamir Khan continued his trailblazing streak with 3 Idiots (2009), which became the first film to enter the ₹200 Crore Club. A monumental success both critically and commercially, it was declared an all-time blockbuster, earning over ₹400 crores globally and finding unprecedented success in overseas markets like China. A few years later, Aamir Khan once again rewrote history with PK(2014). The satirical comedy-drama was the first film to breach the ₹300 Crore Club domestically, proving that content-driven cinema could achieve unparalleled commercial success. It also became the highest-grossing Indian film globally at the time of its release. For nearly a decade, the next milestones seemed insurmountable, until Shah Rukh Khan's spectacular comeback with Pathaan (2023). The film shattered every existing record, becoming the first original Hindi film to storm into the ₹400 Crore and ₹500 Crore Clubs. It registered the biggest opening day for a Hindi film and became the fastest to cross numerous milestones, grossing over ₹1,000 crores worldwide without a release in China. Shah Rukh Khan outdid himself the same year with Jawan (2023), which set an even higher benchmark by becoming the first Hindi film to enter the ₹600 Crore Club. The film achieved the highest opening day ever for an Indian film and made SRK the only actor to deliver two ₹1000 crore blockbusters in a single year. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   The bar was raised yet again by Ranveer Singh's espionage thriller Dhurandhar (2025). The film captivated the nation with its sustained and historic run, becoming the first film to inaugurate the elite ₹700 Crore Club at the Indian box office, solidifying its position as an all-time blockbuster and setting a new target for the industry to chase. Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh-starrer Beats Jawan To Become Highest-Grossing Bollywood Movie Without China

Mumbai, January 2 - Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar has rewritten Bollywood box office history by achieving a landmark feat. The Aditya Dhar directorial has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film globally without any contribution from the Chinese market. Jawan, released in 2023, had concluded its worldwide theatrical run at around 1,160 crore, emerging as the biggest Bollywood grosser at the time. Dhurandhar has now gone past that figure at a much faster pace in just 29 days, setting a new benchmark for Hindi cinema. The spy action thriller has grossed nearly 900 crores at the domestic box office, while its overseas performance is no less than miraculous, with over 265 crores in 29 days so far. This historical achievement makes Dhurandhar the biggest Bollywood blockbuster to-date, as said, without China. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) When it comes to overall numbers, Aamir Khan's Dangal is the biggest Bollywood as well as Indian grosser to date with 2070 crores worldwide gross. However, the film made over 1300 crores gross at the Chinese box office, which is not a regular market for Indian films. Only a very small number of Indian titles have ever managed to release there, so it is not a fair comparison. Dhurandhar has achieved its massive worldwide number without China, relying entirely on audience support from India and established international territories such as North America, Australia, and Europe. In fact, Dhurandhar wasn't even released in the Middle East due to its subject, which has reportedly led to nearly 100 crores in revenue loss to the makers. As Dhurandhar continues its theatrical run, the film's total is expected to climb even higher, further strengthening its position not just in Bollywood but also in Indian cinema's all-time box office rankings, and cementing its legacy as one of its kind global phenomena. Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 26 - Jio Studios and B62 Studios' spy action thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film at the Indian box office, surpassing superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan in just three 3 weeks. Displaying unprecedented box office dominance, Aditya Dhar's directorial continues to crush every release in its path, with Jawan becoming its latest casualty. The 2023 Shah Rukh Khan-fronted action drama had amassed an impressive 760 crore gross in India, a figure that has now been outnumbered by Dhurandhar, cementing its position as the biggest Bollywood blockbuster ever in the domestic market. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) When it comes to Hindi language grossers, only Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule currently stands ahead of Dhurandhar. The Telugu juggernaut charted its own historic run, nearly touching the 1000 crore (950+ crores) mark in its Hindi-dubbed version in India. Dhurandhar is trending stronger than Pushpa 2 currently, and if the momentum sustains, it could well become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. By the end of its fourth Friday, Dhurandhar will overtake Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD (767 crore India gross) to become the fifth highest-grossing film of all time in India. Notably, all four films above it on the list enjoyed the advantage of multilingual releases, an advantage that Dhurandhar does not have. On the worldwide front, the first instalment of the two-part saga is set to cross the 1000 crore gross milestone by the end of today. With this, Dhurandhar will become the first Indian film of 2025 and the ninth film of all time to enter the coveted 1000 crore club globally. Stay tuned...

Top Bollywood Films Post-Pandemic Footfalls Ranking: Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan Leads As Six Movies Top 3 Crore Admits

Mumbai, September 14 – The post-pandemic era has been a rollercoaster for Bollywood, with the industry witnessing both unprecedented highs and major setbacks. The box office dynamics in this age and era have changed drastically, where the brand value doesn't guarantee success. However, in the post-pandemic world, Bollywood has reached new highs, not just once, but on many occasions, with record collections, and those films have managed to pull massive footfalls, reaffirming the enduring charm of the big screen. According to the estimates, six Bollywood blockbusters have managed to breach the coveted 3 crore footfalls mark since cinemas reopened in late 2021, proving that audiences are still willing to flock to theatres when offered the right blend of entertainment, star power, and emotion. Topping the list is Shah Rukh Khan's action phenomenon Jawan, which stands tall with 3.80 crore admissions, making it the most-watched Bollywood film of the post-pandemic period. The film's pan-India appeal, coupled with Atlee's mass entertainer packaging, made it a cultural event across the country. Not far behind is SRK's comeback film Pathaan, which kick-started the revival wave for Hindi cinema in early 2023. Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, fueled by nostalgia and patriotic fervour, follows closely with over 3.40 crore admissions, proving that emotional connect remains as powerful as ever. Ranbir Kapoor's intense action drama Animal registered over 3 crore admissions, marking it as a remarkable run for an A-rated film in India. Top 10 Biggest Indian Openers At The Worldwide Box Office: Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG Takes 8th Spot

Chennai, September 27 - In the opening day box office battle, superstar Pawan Kalyan has officially entered the all-time top 10 list with his latest blockbuster They Call Him OG, directed by Sujeeth. Released on September 25, the gangster action drama stormed the global box office with one of the biggest openings for an Indian film, cementing Power Star's dominance even in the era of pan-India cinema. The race for the biggest Indian opener has grown fierce over the years. It all began with SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), which not only redefined Indian box office history but also became the first Indian film to cross 100 crore and 200 crore worldwide on day one. The director later broke his own record with RRR (2022), which took global openings to another level. In 2024, Indian cinema scaled unprecedented heights when Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 – The Rule shook the industry with a 275 crore worldwide opening, almost touching the (still) unthinkable 300 crore mark. While OG didn't break into the top five, it still paved its path to history, delivering the biggest-ever opening for PK and ranking among the Top 10 Biggest Indian Openers of All Time. Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR’s War 2 Joins Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan, Among Others in BookMyShow's 500K Interest Club; Becomes 7th Bollywood Film Overall

Mumbai, August 5 – The buzz around Yash Raj Films' highly anticipated spy action thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, is soaring as the film is getting nearer its release date, which is August 14. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji, marking his debut Spy Universe film. ## Ahead of the grand worldwide release, War 2 has crossed the 500K interest mark on BookMyShow, India's leading ticketing platform. With this feat, War 2 becomes only the seventh Bollywood film to enter this elite club, joining Shah Rukh Khan's mega blockbusters like Pathaan and Jawan, among other films. ## What makes this milestone even more impressive is that War 2 has reportedly achieved the 500K mark in record time. The excitement surrounding the YRF Spy Universe's next chapter — directed by Ayan Mukerji — is bolstered by the first-time on-screen face-off between Hrithik Roshan and Telugu superstar Jr. NTR, making it a rare pan-India event film. ## This latest achievement places War 2 among a prestigious list of high-profile releases. Prabhas-fronted Adipurush continues to lead the BookMyShow chart with 1.1 million interests, the only Bollywood film to hit a million interests on the platform. Adipurush, however, is billed as a bilingual film, in Hindi and Telugu. ## SRK's Jawan is the second in the list with 732K, followed by Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (725K), Pathaan (722K), and Singham Again (644K). War 2 now joins Tiger 3 (526K) in the 500K+ club, reaffirming the film's blockbuster potential. Although BMS interest is not a box office guarantee, it does indicate the solid hype around a film. ## Despite some reports of a slow advance booking trend in the U.S., particularly for the Hindi version, the overall anticipation remains sky-high. With its Independence Day weekend release date set for August 14, 2025, War 2 is expected to dominate both the Indian and overseas box office charts as one of the biggest releases of the year. ## Stay tuned...
