The Long Walk In a dystopian America, fifty teenage boys are forced into The Long Walk, a brutal contest where falling below pace means execution, and only one survives. Ray Garraty bonds with fellow walker Peter McVries as others die from exhaustion, madness, or despair. Ray reveals he joined to avenge his father by killing the Major, who oversees the event. One by one, friends fall until only Ray and Peter remain. In the end, Ray sacrifices himself so Peter can win, and Peter fulfills Ray’s plan by killing the Major before continuing down the endless road.
