Mumbai, August 28 - August 2023 has turned out to be a historic month at the Indian box office with all films scoring well over 1000 crores net collection. This month particularly turned the tide for the Hindi film industry as it registered the biggest single-month net collection of all time in Hindi.## As of August 27, all the films have scored approximately 750 crores net collection in the Hindi language so far in the month of August. It surpassed the previous biggest single-month collection of 571 crores net, which came in April 2022 while the third biggest was 542 crores net in March 2022. ## So far, Sunny Deol-fronted "Gadar 2" is the biggest earning film in August with 456 crores net, followed by Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2" with 136 crores net, Karan Johar's directorial "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani" with approximately 97 crores, and Ayushmann Khurrana's "Dream Girl 2" with 41 crores. Mumbai, August 23 - Karan Johar's directorial romantic family drama film "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" continues to mint money at the box office as it has become the 3rd highest-grossing outright Bollywood movie of 2023 worldwide.## At the North American box office, "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" is now the 5th highest-grossing Bollywood movie of all time. It has so far grossed approximately $8.85 million in the US and Canada in 26 days and is likely to settle with this. ## As far as Indian movies are concerned, RRKPK is the 7th highest-grossing film there, ahead of SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali: The Beginning" which grossed $8.45 million in its full run. The filmmaker has managed to maintain his 100% success streak as a director.## Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring powerhouse of talent Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, is heading towards 300+ crores finish at the worldwide box office. It has so far grossed approximately 291.50 crores through the third Wednesday (20 days). The movie is expected to enter 300 crores club in the coming week.## RRKPK has managed to hold really well so far with the day-wise trend being much better than most of the recent movies. Mumbai, August 14 - It was a phenomenal weekend (August 10-13) at the Indian box office where all the movies running in theaters brought in over 400 crores gross combined. The Hindi-language box office was particularly on fire, and eventually, scored the biggest single-day ever on August 13, Sunday. ## The three Bollywood films running in theaters currently, "Gadar 2", "OMG 2", and "Rocky And Rani Ki Prem Kahani" combined scored approx. 73.50 crores net (~87 crores gross) which is the biggest single-day collection by Bollywood movies ever, besting the previous record of 68 crores by Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" earlier this year.## All three aforementioned movies clocked massive occupancies throughout the day yesterday with Sunny Deol-led "Gadar 2" going on to record a near-perfect 96% occupancy in the evening shows, the highest tracked occupancy ever for a Bollywood movie. The movie faced capacity issues in many cinemas as it scored one of the biggest single-day collections in Indian cinema.## Gadar 2: The Katha Continues scored approx. 52 crores net (official data awaited) on Sunday (August 13) which is the second biggest first Sunday of all time for a Bollywood title, behind SRK's "Pathaan" (68 crores). The 3-day opening weekend of the latest blockbuster clocked an excellent approx 135 crores net, which is the second biggest of all time. ## OMG 2, the Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam-starrer social comedy-drama also recorded its biggest day so far on Sunday with a net collection of approx. 17.50 crores (official awaited). The 3-day opening weekend of the movie is approx. 43.50 crores net. ## Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, also remained rock solid on its 3rd Sunday and clocked approx. 4 crores net. Directed by Karan Johar and starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, RRKPK has already crossed 100 crores net and the third Sunday collection takes its total cum to approx. 131 crores net.## The coming Tuesday (August 15), will most likely topple the biggest single-day collection record for Bollywood.
