After the historic success of the sequel, there have been reports about the reunion of the actor-director duo, including Gadar 3, which was confirmed by the director himself in one of the earlier interviews. While there was no timeline set for the third part of the blockbuster franchise, the fans are eager to know what is in store for them together. According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Anil Sharma is officially working on Gadar 3 as a big-scale period action film. Mumbai, February 6 - It was recently reported that Zee Studios greenlit Gadar 3, following the historic blockbuster success of its predecessor. Sunny Deol will be returning to play the lead role of Tara Singh along with director Anil Sharma. ## Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, which grossed close to 700 crores worldwide, was set 20 years after the events of the first film which was released in 2001. However, the third instalment won't have a huge time gap, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama. ## It is said that Gadar 3 will be set immediately after the events of the second film or it'll be set a few years after the incidents in the sequel, but there won't be a huge jump in the timeline. The makers reportedly believe that it wouldn't look logical to keep another 20 year of gap considering Sunny's age. ## The report further revealed that the makers had 4 ideas to take Gadar's story forward and they finally locked one for which the script work is on. Apart from Sunny Deol, Sakina (Ameesha Patel) and Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma), will also be a part of the third part. Mumbai, January 1 - The Indian box office in 2023 witnessed a rise of approximately 8% as compared to 2022. It was a year when Bollywood was back on top and dominated the overall Indian market, thanks to some of the biggest blockbusters of all time in the form of Pathaan, Jawan, Animal, and Gadar 2, among others. ## In 2023, the films across languages grossed an estimated 11400 crores (9700 crores net) at the Indian box office, while in 2022, it was an estimated 10550 crores gross (8850 crores net) collection. The Hindi language has had a sharp rise of approximately 45% while the Telugu language mostly remained flat and Tamil witnessed an upward trend but Kannada and Malayalam cinema scored a decline. ## Have a look at the language-wise break-down of the collection at the Indian box office in 2023 - ## Hindi - As said, it was an unforgettable year for Hindi cinema scoring an estimated 4800 crores net collection in 2023, as compared to 3300 crores in 2022. In 2023, Bollywood scored its first 500 crores net grosser in the form of "Pathaan", before "Gadar 2", "Jawan", and "Animal" joined the party in this prestigious club. Apart from the four 500+ crore net grossers, there were 10 other films, including Salaar which minted over 100+ crores net. ## Telugu - It wasn't a great year for Telugu cinema in terms of delivering a big blockbuster. The highest-grossing film in Telugu came in the last month of the year in the form "Salaar" which has minted over 200 crores net. Overall, the Telugu language contributed an estimated 1860 crores net in 2023 as compared to 1900 crores in 2022. 2024, however, could be the break-out year for Telugu cinema as almost all the top stars will be in action. ## Tamil - The Tamil cinema had good success in 2023 with 5 films topping 100+ crores net collection, and two of them ("Leo" and "Jailer") went on to top 200+ crores net. Overall, the Tamil language scored an estimated 1600+ crores net collection in 2023, as compared to 1560 crores in 2022. Just like Telugu, Kollywood could also witness a major turnaround in 2024 with multiple blockbusters lined up for the release. ## Malayalam and Kannada - The Kannada cinema witnessed a major decline in collection in 2023 in the absence of major hits. Last year, there were "Kantara" and "KGF 2" which made a large contribution, but in 2023, things were the opposite, resulting in, the Kannada language scoring an estimated 200 crores net, compared to 650 crores in 2022. ## The Malayalam cinema had a break-out success in 2023 in the form of "2018 Movie" along with some other box office hits but it failed to cross 2022 in terms of overall collection. 'Animal' and 'Sam Bahadur' To Repeat 'Oh My Gadar 2' Success At The Box Office?

Mumbai, November 26 - The Hindi box office showed its potential when Sunny Deol's "Gadar 2" and Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2" combined grossed approximately 800 crores in India after getting a same-day and date release, on August 11, 2023. This was the highest combined total of two Bollywood movies that were released on the same day.## In Gadar 2 and OMG 2 clash, fondly called "Oh My Gadar 2", the former created records by becoming the highest net-grosser ever in Hindi before the record was broken by Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan". The Akshay Kumar-starrer sequel too had a big success despite the clash and emerged as much needed hit for the actor. ## Almost three months later, Bollywood is again in the same position when two much-awaited films, Ranbir Kapoor-led Animal, and Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur are releasing on the same day, December 1st. The initial indications suggest that both movies may have success at the box office despite competing against each other, just like "Oh My Gadar 2". ## The advance booking of both films opened yesterday and the initial trend indicates Animal going Gadar 2 way while Sam Bahadur repeating OMG 2. In the Independence Day weekend clash, G2 was the leader in the advances since day 1 while OMG 2 was the second choice and the same is very much expected in the upcoming clash as well. ## It may not be possible for "Animal" to beat the numbers of "Gadar 2" due to the film's adult rating and lengthy runtime but it can still top 400 crores net if the word of mouth is positive. "Sam Bahadur", on the other hand, is likely to play like "OMG 2" and maybe go on to beat its numbers.## In a positive piece of news, both "Animal" and "Sam Bahadur" can play to their full potential for at least three weeks during which no other Hindi film is scheduled to release.
